I do not have much to say; I just think System76 does good work. I really appreciate the technical support (the few times I've needed it). I very very much look forward to when they release their own laptops (instead of Clevo which, to be honest, are fine).

I have a Lemur Pro (9) and the damned thing just works. Non-stop.

Keep up the good work, folks. I don't expect perfection, but what you have been doing is very very good. And your friendliness to right-to-repair pushes me to being a loyal S76 customer.

Hello everyone. I'm looking to buy a serval ws for Black Friday. I'm thinking the GeForce rtx 4060 and 32-64gb ram w 2Tb os memory.

My use case is mostly all cs and work related. I don't use my laptop for games. Maybe Netflix but that's about it. I'll be running some machine learning algos but anything super intensive I can put on a nvida board if necessary.

Curious about how this laptop operates,

Does it run hot at low loads and how does that change with more intense loads?

In terms of out the box compatibility issues did you face anything notable that was unresolvable?

Did you choose their pop_os? And if so how is it?

What are your general thought on the laptop itself? Construction I hear is solid and issues seem resolvable mostly.

I read people are calling the Pangolin different names (11, 12) and that 13 is on its way. But where do I see that and what the version of the current one is (that they sell right now)?

Sources? Here it someone calling it Pang11:

Here is someone calling it Pang12 and that 13 is almost out:

Aside from the lousy speakers and the occasional bounce keys, I have to say the Lemur Pro may be my favorite laptop I have owned (I used MacBook Pros for a long time).

I ended up switching to Arch with KDE, but hardware-wise it's a solid machine. And I appreciate the technical support I've received (minor issues). I love the battery life on this thing.

I also appreciate: easy to swap SSDs, easily replaced battery, a keyboard and track pad that work just fine, and again: tech support. I know some people who have issues with sleep on Lenovo laptops running Linux; this has absolutely never been an issue on the Lemur Pro. Works perfectly for me.

I'll probably run this thing for another three years.

I've been very happy with PopOS on my main gaming PC. I'm 95% sure I'm going to order a gaming laptop from System 76. Anyone know if they have Black Friday sales? If they do I'll wait.

Does anyone know if Gazelle has a serial port of debug port? Is it possible to debug the open firmware?

I have a 2012 GAZP7 that is still chugging along nicely, except for the fan noise and heat :) Other than that, I love it.

I'm looking to upgrade the memory from 16 GB to 32 GB. I know this is possible, and dmidecode shows there should be 4 slots, but I only see 2 when opening up to the motherboard.

I also don't see where the second hard drive is...

Advice is welcome.

My 2013 MacBook pro is showing it's age and I am shopping around for a laptop. I've been curious about system76's for a while but have been put off a few times by reports of the cases feeling a bit flimsy. I know some of these reports are older though.

The galago caught my eye recently because of the aluminum case, but I have been unable to find much info on this aspect. Can anyone here report on how sturdy this laptop is?

I know it won't be as solid as my old MacBook, which I am convinced could be used as railgun slug, but will it handle the occasional accident well?

Currently, my boot sequence shows both SSD drives passing examination on boot. Then I get a black screen with a non blinking cursor in the upper left corner. The drive light shows no activity at that point. Waiting does nothing. If I attempt to boot from a thumb drive I can see the boot sequence on the screen, and then the black screen. It is almost as if the graphics loading fails.

Any insight, questions, solutions would be great.

So I switched from Pop to Mate desktop and now firefox cant be found anywhere (even in search) but can only be opened using pop shop. Also, the start page switched to Linux Google search page. Any help will be appreciated.
