I realize this is the fuckcars community, but we did something kind of similar using a sprinter van. It had three rows of seats. We took the third row out and had our crates in the back. Couldn’t beat the space and plenty of room for everyone. To be more economical we would sometimes string up a hammock and sleep in the van with the animals to avoid the tedious task of trying to find a hotel that was ok with animals.

You are not but your situation is what I'd like to migrate to, I think. Hotels have gotten even worse... many that I would use before are now charging $20 to $30 per night per dog with a 2 dog cap. Not feasible for me anymore 😞 😓
