Getting a cognitive test should not be criteria Americans need to look for in a president

True. I know you HAVE TO be over the age of 35 to be presideng. However, I'm not aware of any secondary rules where the ages of the nominiees of their respective parties somehow translates to being a high score.

That being said, knowing the name of your doctor ALSO isn't in any way relevant. The assumption here is that trump can't remember his doctors name because his memory is failing.

I could FULLY see it being the case that trump can't remember his doctors name because the last time he saw them Reagan was in office. You're all assuming that trump goes to the doctor regularly, and tries to stay healthy.

I just don't see that being the case. He doesn't seem like a health minded individual. I mean before his presidency, he was best known among my generation for eating pizza hut pizza backwards. For the sole reason that the crust was stuffed with cheese, and he prefered that over the actual pizza slice.

But sure. Maybe he goes to the doctor regularly. A person with knowledge he doesn't have, in a field that takes decades to learn, trying to tell trump how to live his life, because they know better than he does.

Yeah. I'm sure he listens to that regularly...

The doctor at issue (Ronny Jackson) was the White House doctor while Trump was President. His office was in the White House. He travelled on Air Force one with Trump.

He was the doctor that gave an hour long press conference at the White House on Trump’s “excellent” health, saying Trump has “incredible genes.”

Trump then nominated him to head the VA, although he ended up withdrawing.  At that point Trump created a brand new position in the White House for him - Chief Medical Advisor to the President.

After he left the White House, Jackson became a US representative and has been one of Trump’s main supporters. Trump endorsed him when he ran. Jackson was just at Trump’s hush money trial with the other Texas republicans to provide him support.

This is not some random doctor Trump randomly saw once.
