Anyone got a clue what is going on with this critter? Until about 8 months ago it was a single vertical, then had a bunch of pups at once. Have been turning it toward sunlight, but it’s on the only viable inside windowsill. The base of the main is a bit squish. It gets watered twice a year.

It looks like it's giving up on the main trunk. I'd dig it out and replace with fresh succulent soil.

Also that skull, is it a pot with drainage holes or is it a bucket with water sitting in the bottom to rot the roots?

I think you're going to wind up losing the trunk and having a medusa head of it's replanted children.

If you're South-East, I've got bag of succulent mix in Springvale and can help drill some drainage holes.

That sounds pretty much like I expected. The pot does have a drain hole. I have an identical white one with a brain in it that’s doing fine. Have you found cutting strike poweruseful on cactus pups? The one I have seems mostly Vit C

I do not know these words.

I use seasol and generic fertiliser from bunnings (it's a powder that comes in a rainbow bottle with a green lid).
