So far the only users I block are bots that post from reddit. Annoying stuff that is.

I wouldn't mind seeing text posts presenting a problem, and comments with a solution being botted over, especially if that would make federated content more relevant in search engines.
...but yea, I'm not really interested in seeing pics of some random redditer's spoon collection.
According to mods it's a huge fucking issue. These small instances have hundreds of bots registering. Not surprising that a lot of them are just reposting shit from reddit. Most likely they are astroturfing so it seems like this place is full of bots. Instance moderators need to defedrate from these bit instances as soon as they pop up.
I haven't quite done so, but part of the modern internet is content sharing, so for like memes, videos, pics, etc. I totally expect it. Think of all the times there was a tweet shared on another platform.
