If you're comparing the badness of two words, and you won’t even say one of them? That's the worse word.

Banning picking on Swedes is insensitive to the proud cultural traditions of Norwegians.

Thank you for teaching me new slurs to use on cracker

[–] [email protected] 56 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He called me the S word with a hard V! anti-cracker-aktion

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 year ago

That's why I only say Swenne

[–] [email protected] 55 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Me when I learn a new slur for Europeanscomfy-cool

[–] [email protected] 8 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Potato is a common slur for Danes. The Danish slur for Norwegians is "mountain ape". Danes calls Germans "sausage Germans" and Germans calls Danes "bacon Danes".

Yes, it's very easy to find dunkable material on reddit-logo /r/europe. This comment, however, really has everything. chefs-kiss For crying out loud, the white supremacist is even pretending he is a progressive "citizen of Earth"!

Remember when immigrants were in control of Sweden and held all the ethnic Swedes in perpetual, heritable, racialized chattel slavery? Weird times

[–] [email protected] 8 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Weird deranged chuds believe this is actually happening now. Just mention the town Malmö and they'll loose their shit.

As a German, I'm giving all hexbears a kraut-pass

Had this been posted anywhere else I would have been convinced it was a bit, but seeing it's from r/europe it's probably genuine.

Rember when the Frozen movie had a character named the n-word.

It's like the people who think "Karen" is a slur lol

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 year ago

Time to break put the most consistent point maybe ever.

If you're comparing two words, and you can't say one of the words because of the known immediate societal backlash you'll face, that's the worse word.

I don't speak or read swedish but my big brain tells me that this "slur" is just the equivalent of just calling someone a "Swede", right?

[–] [email protected] 17 points 11 months ago

It's like calling an English person Tommy, as far as I am concerned.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 11 months ago (1 children)

No it's based on the name Sven

[–] [email protected] 12 points 11 months ago (3 children)

That doesn't seem like an insult to me

[–] [email protected] 11 points 11 months ago

It's the same as calling a German Hans or an American Johnny.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It's not. It's mostly used to refer to a very stereotypically Swedish person.

Is "Sven" a common swedish old-person name like "Svend" is in Denmark and Norway?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 11 months ago

Old and middle aged mostly in my experience.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 11 months ago

Sweden man. I wish Turkey had succeeded in keeping them out of NATO

Scandinavians and intense racism that goes undiscussed because they have healthcare name a more iconic duo

[–] [email protected] 29 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Swedes acting like they don't liberally use the N-word

[–] [email protected] 18 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

I don't know anybody here that does. Though we have our own equivilant 'blatte' that is used against immigrants.

It used to be common to call chocolate balls n-word balls but nowadays it's only done by racists and really old people.

And to clarify, only said it for educational purposes. Don't use it.

How are you going to equate two words when you won’t even spell out one of them.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Guys stop saying the S-word

Mods they're calling the meatballs the S-word, do something

[–] [email protected] 9 points 11 months ago

I think we should ironically add it to the slur filter. Great bit

As a Swede, I wish there were words to convey how ridiculously tame the word "svenne" is. It is difficult to describe, but if you start by considering the word "cracker" to be the most extreme form of hate speech there is, I want you to know that you would still likely be comfortable calling your in-laws this the first time you met them. I guess the closest thing in English I can think of is describing someone as a "guy" of some knd. And I'm not even sure that conveys how absurdly inoffensive the term is.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Swedes have always sucked at slurs (finnjävel, come on), the immigrants seem to be integrating quite nicely

[–] [email protected] 14 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

So much for the free speech right.

And if you want to stop antisemitism so badly, look at your country full of neo-nazis caused because you lot never denazified after ww2. You can stop kidding yourselves, you know they're no better than hamas.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago

Waiting for the AfD to propose considering Alman a slur.
