Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.

The guest list reportedly included Peter Thiel, Rupert Murdoch, Michael Milken, and Travis Kalanick.

Michael Milken, a financier who Mr Trump pardoned, was in attendance along with Steven Mnuchin

In case anyone was wondering about his star lineup.

It's like a comic book. The League of Assholes

League of Fairly Ordinary Assholes that Inherited Money

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago

They were born ordinary and became exceptional through hard work and dedication. And bootstraps.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Where are all those cops with the punisher logo on their vests when you need them. I'm starting to think they don't actually read punisher comics at all lol.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 6 months ago

They did. Unfortunately they read "Punisher: MAX" which is quite different.

I wonder how many Trump supporters buy electric cars or solar panels?

[–] [email protected] 69 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Yeah it was a pretty dumb business move by Elon to become such a loud right-wing shithead when his core demographic of customers are people who are concerned about climate change.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Depends on the way it's framed. If you frame it as providing off-grid energy for the unreliable electricity grid provided by the country and less dependence on foreign oil, you can probably sell to the right wing as well.Because fuck the government and fuck foreigners.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

The problem is they've mostly now been negatively polarized against non-polluting energy.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I just started a job selling solar. And I was told more right wing leaning people buy more systems if you push the "off grid" option.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago

Well then you have power when the SHTF.

And many right learners expect that any day now.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 6 months ago

Well my Trump voting brother in law has solar and he bitches because it's underperforming but is surrounded by trees and wont trim them so he just goes on bitching that solar is not the answer.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

Why do you think he’s trying to tank Tesla now?

[–] [email protected] 53 points 6 months ago (5 children)

Can we deport this guy yet? He meddles in elections and he wasn't even born here. Everyone accused Obama of being foreign but Musk literally is and is undermining our politics.

[–] [email protected] 39 points 6 months ago (2 children)

I say we just nationalize his shit. This asshat has no business owning Twitter or SpaceX. He's a literal threat to national security.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 months ago

you mean like china did with alibaba

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Kinda glad 5g turned up so I could switch off my starlink.

It's still a net positive for the world relative to the cost of laying fibre to every rural property, but they can use 1-2kW a day which seems unnecessary high, and Elon is problematic.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 6 months ago

Nah, sending people into exile for their birthplace or taking part in politics is some middle ages shit. Only the bad guys actually want to go back to that. AFAIK he also has US citizenship (among others).

Also, ideally, foreigners taking part in politics should just give you international talking points. If that threatens your country, some safeguards are off. In that case, those should be fixed, so it's no longer a big deal.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 6 months ago

Thankfully that's not how the US works. You don't just get to deport citizens because you don't like them. Exiling "undesirables" is what the bad guys do, not the good ones.

Every time I see a headline about this clown I have to check to see if it’s the onion

[–] [email protected] 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I had to double-check the headline to see which clown because there are more than a few clowns I have to do this for.

Get your big shoes out it’s honking time

I expect nothing less from someone who enjoyed South African apartheid and embraces China's 9-9-6 working conditions.

9am-9pm, 6 days a week.

I'm a 10am-4pm, 4 days a week kind of person myself, however.

It's the same bullshit pushed by anyone exploiting labor for their own gain.

Ultimately, you can't blame predatory psychopaths for being predatory psychopaths. You can only blame those who let them get away with it.

And that's all of us :)

(Oh and when I say let them get away with it, I mean: celebrate them, make them into statues, teach all of our children that only money and power matters and do whatever it takes to become just like them, in exchange for all humanity and dignity we could have had instead)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

Unfortunately, you need to add this about all of us supporting them: "buying the cheapest product over buying the fairest produced", therefore comforting them exploiting labor to reduce the cost is what we collectively want.

No shit. Wonder if his idiotic fan boyz take issue with this at all.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 6 months ago

Probably just jealous they didn’t get invites.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 6 months ago

I saw an article yesterday that the state of Berlin is trying to give away Goebbels villa for free because nobody wants to buy it and the upkeep is expensive.

My very first thought was that if Elon hears of this, he'll jump at the opportunity.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 6 months ago

This fucking guy has to be the best argument against African immigrants.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 6 months ago

If the world was a just place that dinner party would have spontaneously combusted. Shit was a gathering of techno and corporate feudalists.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago (12 children)

I thought it was going to be all the 'BiDeN JeNoSiDez' people from here. Even though they would have been turned away at the door. Well, they would have enjoyed it anyway.
