When posting music please use Artist - Record (ffo: Some, Similar, Bands) whenever possible.

No nazi shit. No homophobic shit. No transphobic shit. No sexist shit.

Scene discussions are fine, but don’t flex about what you do in the pit. Also don’t say “the pit” like it’s an important thing. Please.

Maybe a bit of a stretch posting this in [email protected] but i think the strong goth-y deathrock vibes endow this one with just about the minimum required amount of post punk crossover appeal. :-) Over Pale Bodies releases August 25th via Runstate Tapes.

I hadn't heard from these Nashville folks for a long time after their promising demo in 2019. Well, they're back now and their sound's more furious than ever, brewing up a perfect storm of garage-infused hardcore punk with hints of, say, Acrylics, early Electric Chair, Launcher, Liquid Assets, Mystic Inane, Cement Shoes and Crisis Man being just a few of the things that pop into my head at first glance.

What a record... Chaos Masked As Order and Divine Abysmal End are instant hits.

I don't know if Wake the Dead is my favorite album I own on vinyl but it's one of the coolest looking ones I have for sure.

So me and my old man are taking my 4 yr old Lil sister to see a circle jerks/descendents/adolescents show pretty soon.

I'm most looking forward to seeing the adolescents set.

I grew up on punk. Thanks to my father. The first show he took me to was circle jerks when I was about 13 or so. We're just passing the gift along I guess. (:

Weekly recommendation thread for older records. Things you keep going back to and want other people to appreciate.

Fuming Mouth - The Grand Descent (ffo: Gatecreeper, Trap Them, Nails)

I stumbled upon the band completely by accident, while skimming through Triple B's catalog. While not in line with the usual catalog of the label, it really is a nice blend of darkish death metal, crust and hardcore. Coupled with great artwork and Kurt Ballou's polish - the record really is a full package.

No Time - You'll Get Yours LP (ffo: slower Snapshot, The Flex, Violent Reaction)

I wish this band was less obscure and managed to record more than the LP and couple of singles. A very in-your-face-fuck-the-government-church-and-you record. It's fast. And simple.

Arkangel – Prayers Upon Deaf Ears (ffo: H8000)

Technically not a H8000 band, but the aesthetically and lyrically it's indistinguishable from bands like Congress or Liar. I somehow managed to miss it in it's prime time.
