Hi all,

I realize I haven't sorted this community yet, but I am cutting back my Monsteras this weekend and have a bunch of nodes (some with leaves) to give away. Happy to trade or send out to those who are just starting (with some goodies) for shipping and handling.

Peace.

Will sort out the bells and whistles on there the next few days, but try to format posts similarly. :)

I just noticed this, what should I do? Sorry for the vague question but I can't find any good articles on what this is.

Everything I find starts the same way "top 8 reasons for brown leaves". Then says too much water, not enough water, too much light not enough light too much fertilizer not enough, wrong kind of fertilizer and so on and so on. That isn't helpful! Do I just have to guess? Why is all plant knowledge basically voodoo?

I'm tempted to take a cutting so I have a spare to try again if it all goes wrong, but the plant only has 5 leaves, so I'm stressing out.

I think you're supposed to pinch them off, but they're just too pretty.

Every day I find a few leaves on the ground. I read online that it might be root rot so I have been avoiding giving it water.

I might try to take it out of the pot and remove the bad roots. Does anyone have experience with removing bad roots?

Shipping has closed for the winter so I will not be getting anymore plants this year. Probably for the better... I'll have no space once they all get bigger πŸ˜…

Got a couple of my wishlist hoyas (undulata and clemensorium) and some other beautiful plants including some succulents and begonias.

The label says "Schefflera".

  • 4/5 for sunlight
  • 2.5/5 for water
  • 5-25 for temperature
  • Moderate for fertilizer

After I brought it home, I see that some of the leaves are turning dark and falling off. I don't know why.

Thank you in advance

She calls it the soda can planter, and I love it. She made it in tinkercad and I helped her print it with recycled PLA.

EDIT: Not sure why the image didn't upload the first time, I'll try again.

I've been waiting a month or so for the blooms to finally open up! They smell so good, very floral.

So Grandma has gone into the old people home and my mom is doing a purge of the house. Mom threw out Grandma's scrapbook of gardening magazine clippings from the 1980s and if Grandma finds out, she's getting disowned.

I have 2 more African violets and my sister who moved to New Mexico has half a dozen newly repotted cacti.

Hey plant friends! πŸ‘‹ I've been working on some unique, handcrafted planters that are perfect for adding a special touch to your houseplant collection. Each planter is made for my own specific plants. Attached image is my avocado tree and a few succulents.

Whether you're into hanging planters, tabletop pieces, or statement pots, I've got something that can match any plant lover's style! πŸŒΏπŸ›οΈ Check them out at my Artisans Co-op store

Question: What's your favorite type of planter for showcasing your houseplants? I’d love to hear your ideas! πŸŒ±πŸ‘‡

hello do you have any ideas or experiences related to plants for a very dark bath room? I am kinda scared to just randomly try a plant and kill it with those circumstances

This is a spider plant I rescued early in the summer. It is going crazy. Do I need to trim off all the babies? Can I let them keep growing?

This Begonia has been neglected for a while, but has also thrived πŸ‘€. I haven't really done anything with it for about half-a-year easily.

Hall's cough drop in hand for comparison, since my hands are rather large.

I have never seen anything like this? I’ve separated it from the rest of my plants, it’s the only one with this problem! Why is it purple??

I've been great at killing every plant I own within a few months. So guess my surprise when the golden Pothos I bought in March actually survived long enough to be propped and repotted!!!

I also bought a small (but very overgrown) Marble Queen Pothos a few weeks ago that has been doing okay! Not much growth, but also not dying yet! whoop whoop!

...aaand I may or may not have impulse bought a Large Form Monstera Deliciosa Cutting yesterday. Let's see how that goes lol

Got this plant little over 2months ago, and some ofnthe leaves have started to dry out(?) or so it looks like at least. Is this a sign of too little watering? Have tried to keep water consistant, but slightly unsure what is happening.

Any tips appriciated!

Dear houseplant community,

Like the beginning of any good letter, I should probably have written you sooner.

Anyway, a friend of mine had this beautiful plant that she neglected for months, completely drying it out. At the end there were just a few leaves hanging half a meter from the plant itself, completely dried out.

I cut off a piece, gave it roots, potted it, and it went wild! Explosive growth, every new leaf bigger than the last. It was unlike anything I've ever seen.

A few months later, it had had enough. Leaves started curling up and withering. Growth halted. I thought maybe I had forgotten to give it water, but that wasn't it. Moving it to a sunnier spot didn't help either. Now it's almost completely dead, and I miss what we once had.

So, a couple of questions:

  1. Does anyone have any idea what went wrong? Did I water it too much? Too little?
  2. What can I do? Can it be saved? Does it need plant nutrition? A bigger pot? I'm afraid of doing anything, as it seems so fragile one bad move would surely be the end of it.

Thank you so much in advance!

Yours truly, Aa
