Wait WhatsApp works on degoogled phones? I heard they started banning custom ROM users recently and degoogled ROMs can't be spoofed to look exactly like stock ones so isn't that dangerous?

I de-googled my device by removing GAPPS for user0.

Take a backup of whatsapp on working device and restore it on your degoogled device

Good for you. I only use it because of School.
