That's.... not really accurate. All the stuff with the Krogan and Rachni happened centuries prior to humanity making contact. What the story does hint is that humans are not the only ones with racist tendencies. (After rereading, this may have been what you were trying to say)
Humanity butts up against Batarian space and, due to their own conflicts with the galactic political paradigm, that race had shifted to a more hostile system of governance that freely allowed slavery and piracy and the like because everyone else was inferior.
Naturally, we hate them because they hate us.
