I'm moving to a new modern 1,100 sqft apartment with 2 gig fiber internet and need a good router.

I think I'll have 15-20 devices or so between my girlfriend and I. I like my gadgets haha.

I've watched a bunch of reviews on a lot of the offerings for both wifi 6e and 7, but still am unclear if I should make the jump to 7 or not. Obviously Wifi 7 routers are more expensive than 6e, I just don't want to regret going for 6e for a couple hundred less if 7 offers significant better performance.

Thanks.

Just depends on how many wifi7 clients are on your network. I cant imagine in the next couple of years being able to actually use all that speed once it’s in internet land. I have a multi-gig setup and my wifi does WiFi 6 at a gig to the internet. I can hardly tell a difference 90% of the time from my VPN which is hobbled to 150Mb. The major government buildings and schools I design and set up WiFi for are mostly spec’d for 300Mbps and everything seems to work great from there. There are probably some gaming servers on the internet that let you connect at higher than gig speeds but they pay a premium for bandwidth . Playstation network without tricking it with proxies is about a 300Mbps connection+- ping.
