I gotta admit. Before llm were common I used to call bazinga brain types "glorified markov chains" because that's what most of them are. But now with chatgpt I can't call them "glorified chat-gpt" because it truly is better at coming up with bullshit than they do, and it really can almost write better CRUD code than most of these bazinga brains. That's why I think they're so obsessed with this stuff.
Most of the computer touchers I've seen that stan for LLMs and buy into the marketing hype and science fantasy media blitz are ponderously uncreative people. Maybe it really is that exciting for a chatbot to print something out that looks more interesting than what they would have otherwise came up with. There was a LLM corporate CEO that recently said that she felt "more warmth and connection" with her company's product than anyone she dated.
Shit's sad. If they didn't hate humanity and have outright contempt for us unwashed masses, I'd feel more pity for them.
