Still in awe that Capcom okayed this presumably because they thought the average non-gamer would be too incredulous to buy into the premise of bonepunk and cool monsters and the beauty of nature and jolly cooperation, no instead we gotta see bootboys try to shoot a Diablos in a humvee or whatever.
Doom's modern version almost did the bootbrained bullshit until it was torn down and built up again into what it now is.

They probably just handed the keys to the military for funding. Army has been recruiting using anime and video games a ton lately so they might have even approached Capcom first.
