You're gonna have to explain to millions of women across the country why there is a national abortion ban and they no longer have a constitional, fundamental right to an abortion.

The democrats had the house, senate, and presidency when Dobbs went into effect. They didn't even try to enact a legislative solution. Fuck off.

I don’t think it’s my job to explain why other people didn’t do anything about it for the 50 years that they could have. I can, but I’m tired

Don't worry. Next time they'll promise even harder than the last time.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 11 months ago

it was hard this time so we didn't but we'll try harder next time

Sorry they just couldn't because apparently the House Parlimentarian or something said they couldn't. Maybe in a real democracy we vote for that guy he sounds more important than all the other folks we have the option to vote for

I don't mean to be the contrairentarian, but it's even funnier (funny in the same way it's used in the beginning of the song Mad World) because the Parliamentarian did something else to undermine his argument. They were the scapegoat for making the economic bill in COVID (another hehexd moment) shittier. Abortion slipping through during Biden's watch just happened anyway. Trump probably would have passed the same neutered efforts to sure up necessary infrastructure against increasing climate related effects. Either way the US is going hard AF trying to dominate energy.

The economics are devestatingly bad, the domestic policy is barbaric, and the foreign policy is so bad WW3 probably doesn't happen because the US crumbles before something mobilizes, but it doesn't stop the US from putting its whole soul into reenacting all the shit that made people want to stop Hitler.

Would fucking love for a lib to try that line.

Like you said, the reason is because libs refused to do anything so they could use it as a cudgel to get people to vote instead of offering anything because they never thought republicans would do it. Because they're absolute fucking dogshit at politics.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I'd argue that they're extremely good at the kind politics they're paid to be good at.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 11 months ago

Sure but I'm assuming that's not the politics libs are talking about when they say why we have to vote for Biden.

If they admitted dems are controlled opposition I'd be a alot more willing to listen to their other opinions.

They are good at politics, the problem is that their politics are being good cop to Republican bad cop.
