No, it's a choose your own adventure horror game.

Well, yeah basically, but unlike most visual novels it's very non-linear and each path you take is only around ~20 minutes before you get sent back to the start and choose another path.

sounds a bit like "Long LIve The Queen". Which I liked; but maybe with less humorous bad endings?
Though, I can't tell if you play as the princess or the person slaying her? Guess I'll find out if I play it.

You're thinking of Slay the Spire, I believe. Completely unrelated.

I thought it may have been another in the same series or something, because of the similar name. You’re 100% correct!
