Good phone, too bad its a Chinese brand.
Redmagic is owned by Nubia. If there is something I would never do is get a Chinese branded phones. Wouldn't touch them with a 10m pole.
Why not? Some of the easiest bootloaders to unlock in the smartphone market are in chinese phones.
Because China is bad about backdooring everything.
so is the US
Well the US isn't nearly as has or obvious as far as I can tell. Cell phones as a whole a problematic but we can at least limit the damage
The US came up with that kind of surveillance, as Snowden has shown us.. From an outside perspective they seem just as bad, if not worse than China.
Well the US doesn't backdoor motherboards to my knowledge. China on the other hand puts literal backdoors on motherboards
You could try to argue that Intel ME is a backdoor but to my knowledge its only hypothetical with no use in the wild.
You are incredibly naΓ―ve
Perhaps, but I'm still not going to buy Chinese phones
ROG Phones are better, however the neglected quality of ASUS products has affected a lot of customers.
Can you give more details please?
Not sure what quality issues you are talking about here.
After I watched JayzTwoCents video about ASUS, I feel I want to skip the brand, prompting the ROG Phone quality in the future to be similar to Chinese OEMs'.
My Xiaomi is fine.
