A YouTuber I know once described Star Trek as being "globe Earth propaganda".

It was meant as a joke. Both the YouTuber in question and myself enjoy the film. He was commenting on how it feels to watch the movie if you haven't read the book.

Ah, yes that makes more sense. I love the movie but it is quite different. I also love David Lynch, so that helps.
