The Russian Revolution of 1905, also known as the First Russian Revolution, was a wave of mass political and social unrest that spread through vast areas of the Russian Empire. It included labor strikes, peasant unrest, military mutinies, and the formation of grassroots councils (soviets) of people's power. It is widely felt that the 1905 revolution set the stage for the 1917 Russian Revolutions, and for Bolshevism to emerge as a distinct political movement. Lenin later called it "The Great Dress Rehearsal", without which the "victory of the October Revolution in 1917 would have been impossible".
The 1905 revolution was spurred by the Russian defeat in the Russo-Japanese War, which ended in the same year, but also by the growing realization by a variety of sectors of society of the need for reform in the face of agrarian crisis, economic stagnation, and political repression. However, it is generally felt that the detonator of the insurrection were the events of βBloody Sundayβ, in which a mass demonstration -led by priest and police agent, Georgy Gapon- which had sought to petition the Tsar for relief, was fired upon by the troops, killing hundreds of marchers.
There followed clashes in St. Petersburg, and spreading unrest throughout the rest of the Russian Empire. Strikes spread in three great waves: January, October, and November. In June the crew of the battleship Potemkin famously mutinied against their officers. There were further clashes in St. Petersburg in December.
The rebellion did not overthrow the autocracy, but by late 1905 the Tsar felt obligated by events to agree to constitutional reforms, including the establishment of the State Duma, a multi-party political system, and the Russian Constitution of 1906.

been watching videos about the worldbuilding via architecture that elden ring does and ngl its making me feel somewhat bad about the worldbuilding I do for my ttrpg stuff not being as good
Do more drugs. That's how they did it for morrowind
The drugs are a symptom not a cause. Kirkbride is just wired differently.
They locked kirbride in a room with several pitchers of lsd koolaid and the beth writing team. The acid was not for kirkbride.
Yet also feeling impressed by the inspiration it shows from history and mythology
ahhh fellow artist don't despair!!!
I feel the same way all the time when I read/watch things that just obliterate my best work. Sometimes I see something that inspires the shit out of me or it depresses me to all hell that I didn't think of it first. Sometimes both, sometimes nothing like that. I'll doubt myself or tell myself I'm not good enough. I promise you, even on Fromsoftware's teams dedicated to world building (idk how they actually operate just speaking in general terms), there was more than likely a writer who wrote something really neat and interesting one day, then have someone from anywhere just come along and knock things out of the park right in front of them. Or it even just become forgotten :(
idc if this is a platitude or feels like one. You're probably a wonderful and brilliant world builder already. You just have to see it. There is no way I could honestly have a good go at writing a TTRPG because my writing style just doesn't fit and I dislike writing that way. But YOU are here doing just that and I'm not and that's so awesome.
Writing whole ass RPGs is not easy and world building in one is just as difficult so don't put yourself down so much!!
