Thumb wound day two. Not so bad. Was pretty concerned how long it bled for yesterday but now not bleeding, looks much better
spoiler
your condition seemed touch and go for a while.Iβve got to hand it to you for being so brave. π
Glad for the update so that we can really keep our finger on the pulse of the recovery.
Excellent recovery.
You really thumbed your nose at that can.
brutal
Deffo reccomend those bandaids that close wounds, they pull the skin together.
Reminds me of when I was 10yo and I cut my left pointer finger, top and bottom, with a pair of scissors. Got a small amount of nerve damage, but if I curl my finger it looks like a bit like a mons pubis
mons pubis on my digit
That's hot
Woo, thatβs a decent cut.

Did you end up going to the hospital? How did you treat it?
Try and keep it clean and use some first aid disinfectant wipes if you have any, otherwise either unscented isopropyl wipes or just soap and water and band aids/gauze will do
I wrapped it in a rotation of clean socks until about 7.30 at night (12 hours post incident) when I realis d I had band aids at home. I applied one over the bloody mess of my thumb and went to bed. After pic is the morning. I didn't go to hospital or call nurse on call or anything. I figured: if I die, I die. I'll monitor for infection though
Ugh you sound like me. Or maybe I sound like an annoying wannabe nurse. Or maybe both
When other people are injured in my presence I always go full fix it mode and try to find antibac wipes and band aids, when I'm injured I rinse the blood off and say she'll be right π€·ββοΈ
Coincidentally (or maybe not) I actually cut my thumb on old electronics I was messing around with this morning (not as bad as you though) and didn't really do anything. No wipes, no bandaids, no gauze, I just wiped the blood off on a tissue, even though I would tell anybody else in that situation to at least rinse of the blood and wash with soap
Glad you're ok though, please carry on being ok and do not, under any circumstances, die. If you do die, I'll be most displeased and write you an angry letter
