Theirs is a "Loli/Shota/Cub Friendly" instance according to their sidebar. That's why they aren't federated with many instances.

Always a shame when an instance shuts down, but it is nice when the admins are transparent and provide an advanced warning.

I don't believe I am subscribed to any communities on that instance. Are there any valuable ones which don't have an alternative on a more stable instance, and have not yet migrated?

Not that I think of, especially as they were not federated with most of the instances

Ah, it seems that the loss of this instance is not a huge loss to the fediverse as a whole, then.

That post complains about not being able to view/manage images hosted by your instance, but v0.19.4 already fixed that last week? So that kinda disproves them saying the Lemmy developers didn't want it to be possible. Also the post complains about the amount of storage used by caching images but that was also fixed/improved in v0.19.4

Their other complaint about not being able to view a list of users, there's an open issue for that, give it a thumbs up reaction if you think it should be prioritized (github lets you sort by them like upvotes) https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/issues/2450

You don't need 0.19.4 to avoid large storage costs. You can adjust your nginx setup to set a limit on the size of images allowed. For example, Feddit.dk only allows images up to 5MB. Anything larger than that will be linked to rather than stored locally.

Good riddance pedos . Fuck you yes all of you hope you never return .

Their grievances with the Lemmy dev team is pretty universal. I can’t wait for Sublinks to become the mature release.

I still don't think the best solution to an under-staffed team is to try to make a competing under-staffed team. I think just contributing would be more helpful for all, especially with the plugin support coming soon to Lemmy

how long until Sublinks catches up to Lemmy?

Let's not start again this whole debate ha ha

Also, piefed.social is a small team, but is almost feature parity with Lemmy

And nothing of value was lost.

Good riddance, one less pedophile instance to worry about.

RIP Bozo, blocked that instance ages ago, I don't even know why we were federated with them
