I was hoping the Phins would get Tua's contract done first, but I'm expecting them to have to fork over similar money anyway.

This is big for Tua. Is Lawrence is worth that much, he should be able to pull more
So far we know there is one team willing to pay that much and they just did.
If Trevor Lawrence can pull that much, there are probably a good 10 teams willing to pay Tua way more. Unless the Dolphins staff are idiots, Tua will get a better contract
It's not all about $ per year either. If you look at Lawrence's contract, he's honestly not the biggest cap hit considering him being "the highest paid player of all time."
I didn’t look at the contract but shifting things between years is common
It's actually a really nice contract for the Jaguars. His cap hit for this year is smaller than if he played on the option, and they have an out to save a boatload of money in '27-'28 if he doesn't work out. So essentially a 2 year extension all the while bringing down the cap hit for 2024. If Tua gets the same contract with slightly more money in those first few years I'd be happy lol.
I'm so glad the Lions got the Jared Goff contract done. But by this time next year it won't look outrageous. Same thing happened the last time we resigned Stafford.
If he puts his entire contract on 00 in roulette he could get 9 billion dollars. That’s almost enough to buy Subway.
