This is the first time I've ever considered visiting Utah. Tell them to use this one.

Afraid they packed over a year ago. This is the winner (I like it too, but I really want the dinosaur skiing to be somewhere)

Interesting, I didn’t know Utah was known for bees/honey.

LDS / Mormon here, it's the logo for Deseret, https://www.deseret.com/pages/deseret-news-logo/

Same thing with Deseret industries or anything under that sub moniker

What you're implying here is the State of Utah put a newspaper logo on their flag. Is that accurate?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 months ago (2 children)

It's referring to this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_Deseret

The newspaper was named after that as well

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

Well, that's lame. It would be cooler if it was just because of bees.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago

^ this is correct.

Maybe the like Utah Chamber of Commerce could adopt it as their official flag?

Hell of a lot better than PA's.

Of course it's bees. It's always bees with that crowd.

Utah "It's been dull around here since hive-collapse" has spoken.

Well, we're getting a pro hocky team here, I'll have to submit this for their flag.

That article hurt a little to read - it's not a T-Rex, it's so obviously a Utahraptor I'm a bit flabbergasted that made it to print. But I guess not everyone had my obsession with dinosaurs as a child...

Unironically better than the inaugural Utah Hockey Club Jerseys. Hope they pick something good before playing a season in that placeholder kit.

So many good and bad names on the table. “Utah Venom” sounds awesome. “Utah Ice” on the other hand…
