I did the math not long ago. If I retired at 65, I would have enough money to live for a little bit and then starve in the streets. If I retired at 45, I would have enough money to live for a little bit and then starve in the streets.
The only difference was 20 years of drudgery.
Of course, there's always the "work until I die" option.
exactly. plenty of folks would love to retire at 50 if they could afford to and not to a jet set life but just to maintain food, shelter, and healthcare.
I do not fear monsters under my bed or in my darkened closet, nor do I fear retirement, which is just as imaginary.
