We continually evaluate ways to invest in our businesses and more effectively manage our resources and costs to fuel the state-of-the-art creativity and innovation that consumers value and expect from Disney. As part of this ongoing optimization work, we have been reviewing the cost structure for our corporate-level functions and have determined there are ways for them to operate more efficiently.

God am I fucking sick of shitty corpo speak. You're laying people off. You're firing them. Do the bare minimum and own up to it.

Yup! People will have no job because of this. The least they can do is be honest and unambiguous.

Just remember that every time you see this, someone has to go home and tell their family that they don't have a job anymore. Or someone has to explain to their landlord why rent will be late. These aren't just statistics, they're people.

And remember that every time this happens, it's literally just to save more money for the "important people" and shareholders. And I guarantee we will see a price bump in Disney services before the end of the year for the exact same reason.

They've already started cracking down on password sharing on Disney Plus.

In the U.S., an Extra Member profile will cost an additional $6.99 per month for Disney+ Basic subscriptions and $9.99 per month for Disney+ Premium subscriptions. Currently, only one Extra Member slot is available per primary account; in addition, the Extra Member option is not available for Disney Bundle subscribers or for subscribers billed through third-party partners.

I wish people would collectively just stop everything and shut it all down. Stop consuming, stop subscribing, stop willingly be fucked over. People complain, but don't actually do anything about it. It's pathetic.

Yup. They will happily slurp up more of the corporate slop and ask for seconds.

It is incredibly depressing how something as basic as an ad blocker isn’t understood or used by the bulk of humanity.

Stop giving these assholes money. Cancel your subscriptions and just download shows and movies.

Entertainment is so oversaturated and valueless these days yet they are seeking a monthly rent from you for their slop.

Stop being a money bank for corporate shit stains.

Was reading through the Third Quarter and Nine Months Earnings for Fiscal 2024 report.

Corporate and Unallocated Shared Expenses

“Corporate and unallocated shared expenses increased $33 million for the quarter, from $295 million to $328 million, driven by increased compensation costs and other cost inflation.”

So higher salaries for the corporate, pretty much? 🤷‍♀️
