Of course it’s almost $500… AMD just cannot fathom the idea of launching something at a somewhat reasonable price, and every single time it means the reviews and first impressions are middling due to a lack of value. Kills my excitement every time too, since I’ll just get it cheaper in several months instead of excitedly impulse buying it at a more sane starting price. Probably better for me I realize, but I want to be excited about it! Their launch prices are such a buzzkill.

This 120 Watt processor will have a suggested retail price of $479 USD.
Not terrible, but not great. Let's see if they're actually available at that price.
I don’t know about you guys but that’s super expensive imo.
It's reasonable for a high-end bleeding edge processor. Some of them are a couple hundred dollars more. It's more than I'd spend these days, since computing power is so great that even the 20th-30th most powerful processor will do everything you need it to do, but some people are willing to spend a fortune to have the best of the best.
To be fair I think I’m just salty since I used to be that guy and can no longer afford to do it lol.
If it makes you feel any better, I can afford to, and still don't. There's really no point anymore. You can spend half that and still get a processor that'll do literally everything you want it to do with overhead to spare. Benchmarks are well past the point of actual use now.
That does make me feel better haha - much appreciated my man!
