Starting to feel like home, right?

Good thing an actually functioning block feature exists here <3

Especially when I write some long winded rebuttal and after I post it find myself wondering why I’m escalating some stupid ass argument. Oh yeah. It’s like I never left.

I'll write 4 paragraphs, then notice I made one typo and get frustrated and delete the whole goddamn thing

Resdit is dead; long live Reddit.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Correcting people on the internet is basically our version of terraforming and, baby, we just landed on mars.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lemmy isn't reddit, but whatever it is, they're both the internet.

☝️🤓 akshuly there's probably never go-ink to be, * gasp * more than 10 reasons for either in a casual conversation, that's why you're wrong! You fool! You absolute sheep! I am the superior person in this conversation!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Why don't you back that up with a source?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This is my personal favourite. Asking for sources in general conversation, and refusing to participate further in any discussion without them. Then it turns out their own sources are just links to some "journalist" opinion from a web site, written by a different human being without any sources.

I believe that tactic is called sealioning. It's very common on Twitter actually.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

My source is that I made it the fuck up

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

No, you see, I already told you I am a superior being. My parents are both CIA psycho-astronauts with the highest security clearance, I'm THAT important also I have a IQ of 239 which is higher than all of you combined I don't need to back myself up with your so called "sources" only mindless sheep have to back themselves up with such. I am no mindless sheep, you see, I am a lone wolf my smartness makes others not want to associate with me because they feel so dumb next to me I exude IQ. That's also why I believe both sides are the same. * tips fedora * OwO

Relevant xkcd.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

The image that captures the one consistent truth of the internet. GG.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Not me for sure but OP just doesn't get it

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You may have sources, but I have a goalpost on a stick that I can wave around!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Unrelated, but I happened to notice your uname, so

Praise "Bob" and hail Eris!

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But you didn't consider that....

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago

Funny how you fail to see...

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago (3 children)

you're right, therefore, you're wrong

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

Correction: I'm right because I'm wrong.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

This statement is false

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Checkmate tautologists.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I thought we were calling ourselves lemmonades.

You're spot-on, though.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago (2 children)

There surely wasn't ever a situation where you were actually wrong in 583287312 ways! At most, it could have been 583287311! Shit not even in your complaining you can be correct...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

"Well achtually thanks to the shouty math symbol you're numbers are way huger"

(The bad spelling is intentional including but not limited to "you're")

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

This meme is 100% correct though.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

And at some point, you're gonna have a whole thread of people talking about billionaires or google.
