The mask is going to be part of an undead king costume I am putting together! Can't wait until it's all done!

I’m just glad you’re halpy with it

So damn halpy!

Here's the WIP costume I'm using it on.

It's still heavily being worked on. I'm adding fur trim to the cuffs and the opening on the front to give it more of a regal vibe.

Very cool. However, belts don’t really work on skeletons.

Not fully skeletal. The story behind this character is that he was an evil king over thrown and left to rot in a deepest dark dungeon, then resurrected for "reasons" idk. But the resurrection was botched and left him part bloated corpse (because I am over weight) and part skeleton.

Wow, that is one amazing looking costume. Nice work.

Thank you! I'm working on painting the crown. It's taking a LONG time because it's 3D printed and super intricate

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The crown as in the halo, the actual crown or both?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Both! I still need to use some bondo and filler primer on both of them and sand the ever loving shit out of them!

Somewhat unrelated but what glue did you use for your 3D printed crown? I've been having a hard time finding glue that will hold for things that take a bit of a beating. The best thing I've found so far is superglue gel but it's not perfect

This is the first 3D printed thing I am working on, and I don't have it put together yet, because I am still sanding and filling in gaps. My friend who makes his own clone trooper armor for the 501st uses an automotive adhesive (I can't remember which) and for smaller pieces he recommended this stuff:

Hopefully that helps.

Awesome, that does help! Thanks so much

What kind of techniques did you use to add the weathering effect?

Honestly just accrylics and sponge brushes with some paper towels. I did the whole thing on my twitch stream. I'll be putting the vod up on my youtube tomorrow if you want to see it!

It almost looks like you just had a real skull lying around and made it into a mask. Great job!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Thank you! Doing weathering is a lot of fun, and it's actually pretty easy!

You will be the star of that prom!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

The absolute bell of the ball!

Wow, excellent job! I love the character backstory that I read in the comments too.

Thanks! It's not super-duper fleshed out, just enough to cover inconsistencies and the weirdness of a fat skeleton!
