I'm torn by this. I am anti tolls. I avoid them at all costs. I am pro public transport, however our circumstance doesn't really allow the family to use it (young kids, 1 disabled, + my work requires the use of a vehicle). we only really travel across brisbane to get to LCH and only take APL/CLEM7 if we're short on time. However I do think they missed an opportunity when doing APL by not extending it further north. It just seems ridiculous to dump all that traffic out at stafford/gympie road, right before the largest shopping centre in Brisbane, on what is already a heavily congested arterial made worse by the whole stafford gympie interchange. Ideally the tunnel should go north to at least carseldine. preferably north of beams rd.
It's great that we are getting a bus lane to Chermside. It should go further north as well though.
I'd love to see light rail all the way up gympie rd. I believe there used to be a tram line in days gone by.. hopefully metro buses end up using the new buslanes on gympie rd.
