I think they are using chrome browser integrated into the app , I would love to use my own hardened firefox browser that its already install on my phone. This would a great feature to ask.
Liftoff!
A mobile client for Lemmy running on iOS and Android
there's an active pull request for opening links in an external app, hopefully it's in the next release
I tried building that, but it really didn't want to open anything (suspect it has to do with me not having chrome on my linux machine)
Ended up cloning v0.9.18 and replacing the bit in lib/url_launcher.dart
that opens urls with flutter_custom_tab
's launch
, works great (hooray for open-source)
Nice! I love that it's open source. It's my favorite lemmy app and I want to contribute soon when I have time.
Same. Unfortunately I have exactly 0 experience with mobile app development in general, let alone flutter... Damn, now I gotta learn that
my experience is making one mobile app in Java, so learning flutter was easy in some aspects, but hard in others. the best benefit though of learning flutter is that there's one codebase for both ios and android. it's awesome.
I would like the option to use my own system defined browser instead of integrated into the app please.
I would like to echo this sentiment and add that I would like to be able to open in my own browser as it uses ad/script blockers and gives me access to a reader mode.
Generally having the option to view content outside the app would be a great QoL.
This has been irking me too for multiple reasons. I don't want my browser within the app. I just want my browser. Same goes for videos. Let us pick what app to use for websites, youtube, images etc etc
This is something RIF did beautifully.
Same issues here. Other than that it's been really smooth
