Since discovering the joys of cloaks, I've wanted to wear one all the time now but struggling for clothes that don't look jarring with a cloak.

To be clear, I'm aiming for a "larp/fantasy" look, just some somewhat modern and comfortable clothes that would look good with a cloak.

Thanks in advance!

Haven't got any pics just yet! will get some next time I can get my mate to get a pic! In the meantime, it's an olive green woolen ruana style cloak. It's about knee length plus a little and has a loose fitting hood. It's amazingly warm. It's basically a wearable blanket!

Very similar to this kind of cloak except with a hood!

In all seriousness, cruella DeVille had some good looks to go with a baggy coat cloak look thing. Gloves different color from cloak.

Seconded. Iโ€™m very curious.

But as a shot in the dark, try some earth tones and natural fabrics like loose fitting/naturally dyed linens?

Mithril chain mail.

There's no modern standard here. Cloaks are unusual, especially on men. Which is not to say you shouldn't do it, but that you should understand that you're in uncharted territory, developing an aesthetic that will be entirely your own. If that's sweatpants, tights, pleated cords, orange denim... you're on your own here.

Idk. Try corduroy and tweed. That could give a rustic effect.

Highly recommended! I made mine myself and it was very easy but you can probably buy one if you like!

I hadn't considered making one, but I'll keep it in mind. I certainly don't have the mental bandwidth at the moment, but I imagine it's much cheaper than buying one.

Those oversized T shirts that look kinda robe-y would work I think

Let's face it. If you're wearing a cloak, you either need the hood up orrr you need a helm/hat.

Probably just sweat pants.
