Only watched it because it was the show that came on before the Simpsons. Never laughed once but I had a small crush on Lisa Kudrow

Broken clock moment. The show sucks.

Does Veep get any better? Feeling this after the first two episodes.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

veep is great, but the humor is very character-driven

The 90s were terrible for sitcoms, and most have aged horribly. The only 90s primetime show I genuinely still laugh at is Get a Life.

has there ever been a good time for sitcoms?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

There are some good British sitcoms like Blackadder and Yes Minister from the 1980's. It could be survivorship bias though.

Scrubs was basically the only good sitcom even if it is still problematic at times

i'd argue peep show is the only good sitcom, but that's even more problematic

It did not age well.

I feel the exact same way about Seinfeld. Yes yes, it's totally the origin of so many shows that came after it that I also feel the same way about. I hated Seinfeld in the 90s, and I hate the show now. disgost

Probably depends on when you were born for some part of it. I think it's hilarious but I was born in 82

  1. My friends and other kids my age loved the show all through middle school, but my reaction to show has been the same as the above pic, then and now.

I was born in 1984 and I find the show deeply unfunny and off-putting.
