@Gorgritch_umie_killa @ulun_lpg Ooh they used to. Kids with .wa.edu (I think) addresses could get Education Edition for free

There is always the minetest option.
Minetest is the 'Lemmy of the Minecraft world'. Community made and run, FLOSS, free forever and no company involvement. I've played it quite a bit and run clubs with 20 kids playing on a LAN together, they all had a blast cooperatively constructing.
