Ok so it's actually sponsoring, they are being forced to contribute by the Russian government. Not a nebulous 'still doing business and paying taxes therefore..'

So, they could have chosen to leave the country, but they chose to stay and and take on the extra demands of the government.

Ok, rexona, i'll choose a different product next time i need to get deodorant in few weeks. Bit bummed about lipton as a company too, but i have no problem avoiding that too.

I jusr popped off an email to the corporate office in my country and left a message at https://www.unilever.com/contact/ asking to know why they're still operating in Russia and promising to not shop Unilever until they stop. I also reviewed the list of Unilever brands available in my country and added them to my boycott list.

I want to create a kbin magazine called "warsponsors". Would you like to join and be a mod?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That sounds good.

Will it be limited to war sponsors for Russia's illegal & unprovokedinvasion of Ukraine or other wars too?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah I think it is a good to have a focus. Perhaps we can call it "RussianInvasionSponsors"

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sure, count me in. Alternate names could be SponsorsOfRussianImperialism/ SponsorsOfRussianInvasion shortened to SoRI. Just a suggestion. is good too. RussianInvasionSponsors aka RIS.

How often should we update it? Weekly? Or more often? Should we also provide the publicly available contact info, for these villains so people can mail/ message them? We could regularly update worldnews and relevant mag.s to remind people who the villains sponsoring Russian villains are.

Just bouncing off a few ideas.

I like "SponsorsOfRussianInvasion" best. I haven't really thought of the frequency of updates. Ideally it would be nice to have something every day. But it only makes sense when we find something newsworthy. Contacts of the villains might be helpful for some, but I think money speaks the loudest.

I’ve never helped with anything in regular Reddit but I’d help out here on this if it’s needed.

I've created m/SponsorsOfRussianInvasion. There seems to be a technical issue adding moderators, as soon as it is resolved I'll add you as a mod.

I've started posting to the magazine. Hopefully it will get more subscribers.
