I feel like I've formed some sort of faithfulness towards dbzer0 and have a bias towards subs and users of my instance. Anybody else in the same boat?

I feel some kinship with my instance just because it's a niche fandom-based instance, but I wouldn't hesitate to jump away should there be reason to. In the last few months I jumped from .ml to .ca when redditors started coming here, then from .ca to here a couple weeks ago.

If I moved, it'd have to be to another small, niche interest instance like this. I have an account over on retrolemmy.com for a couple of the communities I made, so maybe I'd set up shop there, depending on what their apparent federation/defederation stances were.

Yea, a little bit. It’s different on the kbin side since there aren’t many instances for now. But the instance I’m on is primarily target towards Artemis app users, so we all have that in common.

On Mastodon, yes definitely. I’m on a gaming focused instance and everyone has been awesome.

Blåhaj are the best. If you've got a problem with Blåhaj you've got a problem with me.

Sorta? In that my instance generally handles defederation in ways I approve of more than any other major instances. But meh otherwise. And yeah mostly I have biases against instances as was mentioned

Isnt lemmy.world the piracy banner

That one was the one I disagreed with but it’s back and I respected their justification of fear of liability.

I was much more concerned about not dealing with bigoted trolls on a regular basis

my instance is the worst

Loyalty? Not necessarily. I agree with the admin and moderation policy, so far decisions in the community have been discussed openly, and I don’t generally find most of the users obnoxious.

That being said I’m considering spinning up my own instance.

I never look at the local feed, only my subscribed. But what you subscribe is very human, we tend to gravitate towards a tribe.

Yes, of course.

This whole conversation has reminded me of the lemmy instance pcm.m@lemmy.basedcount.com-2462291
