I just received this message from a band I like, on Bandcamp. I hope that posting it here doesn't violate any rule.
It's also an interesting insight on what kind of influence corporations like Meta have on small bands.
Hey! Hope you're enjoying a chilled Sunday with good music and good vibes.
You may have seen our 5000-follower Facebook account was permanently disabled by Meta this week in the lead-up to our UK/EU tour with Acid Rooster. All our Facebook events, promo and paid ad campaigns have been deleted.
No reason was given by Meta (other than 'authentic identity' - which we provided on several occasions), they took £200 from our Paypal and tell us we have no right to reply.
I suspect it may be the result of a hack elsewhere.
The fight continues.
This has obviously had a significant impact on our ability to promote our upcoming shows on the platform that carries our biggest following.
We'd be eternally grateful if you could help us get the word out about the tour this week by sharing the links, poster oand giving us a follow on your social.
We really appreciate any support and shares you can give
