In the ever-growing pantheon of fancy iced treats, I believe the humble lemonade lolly is still the superior choice.

And if you're turning your nose up at this right now, I encourage you to give it a go. Most refreshing, tastes like childhood.

It is good. But I think for the perfect combo of refreshing/tasty you can't go wrong with the equally humble orange juice lolly.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

@leraje Hmm, personally I find the orange ones tend to wear out their welcome by the end.

But I respect your take on this important matter.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They do, but I find that (after constant experimentation when the kids were young) home made lollies made with 50% fresh OJ and 50% water are perfect.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

@leraje Well that puts the cat among the pigeons, introducing *homemade* lollies into the mix. I guess we would need to test homemade lemonade ones too to be sure.

...brb ordering a lolly mould.

@teahands @ukcasual you like vanilla ice cream, and lemonade lollies? It's like nobody ever told you that chocolate was a thing 🤔

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

@dev_ric @ukcasual I like chocolate the way god intended! As chocolate. Or cake. Preferably both at the same time.

Clearly my tastes in cold treats are just a little classier than your own. No shame in it, I won't judge.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

@teahands @ukcasual see, for me, nothing beats that crunch of frozen chocolate. The best bit about a magnum is the crunchy layer it's wrapped up in 😁

Classy though? Pfft. I'm basically a starving Alsatian when it comes to treats. They skim over the taste buds at an astonishing speed 😂

I tend to disagree. The lemonade lolly is very good, but the rocket lolly is the definite winner in this race.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

As much as I respect your right to this opinion, I wholeheartedly disagree. I do not need multiple flavours confusing my palette. Lemonade all the way.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

@LunarLoony Ehhh, they're ok I guess but the pineapple part stings my tongue, gotta dock points for that.

@okmatewanker

Edit. Thanks, I couldn't work out to make my c searchable

Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: [email protected]

As a kid we had sticks and cups that made them. I tried milk to many times and every time it was bad

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Reminds me of when I tried to make fizzy milk in the Sodastream. Do not do this.

Red white and blue popsicle

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

@KeefChief13 Seems to be a USA thing, maybe? That is a much better flavour combo than our equivalent rocket lolly though, can't argue with you there!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lol it is probably a usa thing, but it taste really good haha. What is a rocket lolly?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

@KeefChief13 Imagine basically the same thing but the three flavours are strawberry, pineapple and orange instead.

Properly mid tier lolly in my clearly expert opinion.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

That does not sound bad

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Bomb pop beer is a thing and I bought some red white and blue energy drink that tastes like bomb pop, too.

Not a mint feast though, is it?

I miss mint feast...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

@vext01 Those were my favourite when I was a kid, except I'd always forget that only the outside bit is nice and then you get to that tedious solid choc in the middle 💤

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

You heretic! That's the best bit!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That shape... it has to be R.Whites, right?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

@Pyroglyph Excellent lolly identification skills! It was indeed.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

No lollygagging!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

If Japan has taught me anything, you may want to check the ingredients list on that before consuming.

Nah Mr wippy with a 99p flake is banging

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

hard agree, i'm suffering from the after effects of a flu jab right now and a lemonade lolly sounds heavenly.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

@Duchess Does that thing people do when they send *internet hugs* also work with lollies? Let's see.

*internet lemonade lolly*

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

It's much appreciated lol
