Can't Upload Avatar (midwest.social)

Trying to upload an avatar, but I keep getting this error:

SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

That's the only thing that shows up in the console. Not sure what is expected.

This is dumb but try changing your accepted languages to just Undetermined in the settings and then try again. Sometimes that fixes the issue.
