It’s not the official app. There are no official app.
Jerboa
Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.
Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

Thanks, I assumed it was official due to being made by dessalines. If it's just one of many side projects then I understand the separation.
It just says
Jerboa is made by Lemmy's developers [...]
But I get what you wanted to say. I think some versions earlier ths was even more prominent. Like they really advertised it as the app by the official lemmy devs.
because it isn’t
I don't think it is. I don't think there should be 1 official app.
And then let's limit the APIs for all the apps but Jerboa/Lemmy /s
Jerboa is a 3rd party Foss app.
Reddit had a few and lemmy has a few.
Currently you can use:
- Mozilla Firefox
- jerboa for lemmy
- liftoff?
- wefwef?
- other forks of the above?
There is no official app and probably won't be.
Also Thunder and Connect for android phones work well
its just jerboa not jerboa for lemmy. There wasn't any other jerboa and I have to admit that I hate these bloated and unnecessary additions. Just decalre openly that your app now only works with lemmy. Problem solved.
Dunno but i used to use "Baconit" to a site called "reddit" once...
