At this point, I'm not going back out of pure spite.

That would be reason enough. but the main reason I'm not is that I know this will turn reddit into 4chan. No good mods = racist trolls take over, they drive away decent users, content becomes almost exclusively shitposts and endlessly recycled memes. Consider how bad it is now and think of how much worse it will be once the good mods and content posters leave.

Calling your employees "Snoos" is the cringiest shit.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Referring to his employees as “snoos” really fucking rubs me the wrong way

if my boss called me a cute pet name, I'd fucking quit on the spot

bosses who like to act overly familiar and pretend that we are not in a contract where I am only doing labor for them to get paid are scary tbh; the "we're one big family" act always has an implied "and I can disown you for literally any reason, especially if it's convenient for me"

It's almost as bad as "tweeps" for Twitter employees.

Improve their product doesn't matter, to me at least. I'm not watching more ads.

"stay focused, adapt to challenges, and keep moving forward"

No surprise that Spez speaks fluent corporate. Fuck this guy, and fuck reddit.

We must ship what we said Disgusting, good thing I'm never coming back reddit. This is just the beginning of a long list of bad decisions, no wonder why Reddit is no longer profitable.

What the hell is a "snoo"?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Reddit's antenna-head mascot.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

TY I didn't know it had a name lol

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Fuck this guy.

I don't think he's wrong tbh. Normies don't give a shit about piss poor app design and being inundated with ads.

I know people are pissed about this, but what is a CEO supposed to say?

Admit they dropped the ball when it came to decision making and let employees know they are taking care of their cash cow (power users, content creators, and mods).

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Are Reddit power users actually their cash cow though?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

the real cash cow is the content. with an IPO looming, the only concern is how best to monitize all of the free work that has been done for them over the years. that is all. whatever "community" BS that has been fed from corporate to the userbase(*) has been laid bare as a farce.

(*) there may have been a time early on when the feeling of actual community existed at a coporate level and extended to the userbase, but I can assure you that was strangled in the cradle as quickly as possible.

The people who spend money on awards are.

I can imagine there being at least a few power users that award regularly. Wasn't there an award you could give out for $100 or something?
