Not to discredit liberal Israel supporters, but it seems odd to see the left suddenly going mask-off on their antisemitism when historically it's the far right that has been antisemitic. Maybe it's a case of horseshoe theory, it wouldn't surprise me.

I think it’s important not to equate criticism of Israel with antisemitism.

A new sock puppet account to post the exact same thing as @gsa posted and then deleted?

Yeah, not at all suspect or trying to avoid the fallout on your normal account...

Obvious troll is so very very obvious...

Relevant detail, confirming the association - @gsa's avatar is Marsey, rdrama's mascot. Now check OP's username, @GazaMarseyBomber.

Yeah, not at all suspect or trying to avoid the fallout on your normal account…

Agreed. Specially because, if there's something worse than a troll, it's a fucking dumb and obvious troll.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Personally, I prefer my trolls dumb.

I like smart trolls because they can be sometimes enjoyable, and even so rarely relieving - as they exploit some tension in the community, and force it onto the open.

Dumb trolls though? They're just there, like Navi in Zelda, saying "HEY, LISSEN!" to beg for your attention nonstop.

Where are you seeing this supposed anti-semitism from the left?

I've literally seen zero anti-semitism from the left. Every single anti-semitic statement or action I've ever seen has been by someone on the right.

Now the left does tend to be anti-zionist, but much though warmongers like Netanyahu might want you to think so, that's not by any stretch of the imagination the same thing as anti-semitism.

Don't feed the trolls man

Why don't you go back to rdrama, GazaMarseyBomber?

(For others: criticism against a government does not automatically imply hate towards the individuals loosely associated with said government. Specially not when some of those individuals don't even pay taxes to that gov, and a few of them are criticising it too.

In fact, the very discourse of conflating a government with a population has a name - nationalism. OP is a nationalist and should be treated as such.)

Stop trying to be divisive*.

All sides should be against killing civilians, women, and children. Full stop. It doesn't matter who is doing it, killing innocents is wrong. This is not a right or left thing, it is not an Israeli vs Palestine thing, innocents should be protected no matter their side.

Now, unless you have something constructive to say, kindly get out of here with your low effort trolling and decisive political baiting.

Edit. I'm an admin and see you tried the same post with your kbin account but it was removed and now you're trying to get around it. Confirmed low bs trolling.

"Liberal Israel supporters" lol

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 year ago

If we say Israel and you hear Jews, it's not us that are antisemitic.

There are jews against Israel, are they also antisemitic?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

You're implying any criticisms of the Israeli government, or the Israeli military are automatically anti-Semitic.

You're implying that there's a government and military, that can do no wrong, are always perfect, and have nothing to improve.

Feedback is critical for any human endeavor, organization, system, to improve and remain balanced. If you remove the ability to provide feedback, systems will degrade.

So I will concede one of two things is definitely true:

A. The " left " are totally anti-Semitic because the Israeli military, and the Israeli government are perfect now and forever.

B. There are valid criticisms of the policies and behavior of the Israeli government and the Israeli military.

Only one of these can be true, which is it?

Why do you ask such a loaded question?

It’s a failure of properly understanding intersectionality. Intersectionality says that the combination of societal status does not equal the sum of each individual status, but may in fact be its own unique thing. A black woman has unique challenges and experiences even compared with “women” in general, or “black people” in general, even though black women are black, and are women. This is a weird idea and hard for most people to wrap their heads around, so it’s not surprising that this comes up.

Jews (of which I am one) have a particularly troublesome social status intersection that creates a unique combination that leads to some troubling conclusions for modern left leaning Americans.

Consider the following two premises: oppressors, that is, the strong, should be fought against to prevent the weak from harm. And white people have historically been the oppressors.

Hopefully, these two statements are non-controversial and make sense.

Then come Jews, who, apart from their Jewishness, are basically considered white in the modern day. So jews are oppressors and must be fought against to protect the weak, right?

Ah… but there’s a nasty historical coincidence— the oppression against the jews has always been that they are secretly powerful and oppressing others. The elder protocols of Zion and other nonsense permeates the culture. Hundreds of years of jews being the evil bankers (because we were forbidden from having any other job). Constantly given garbage and unfavorable positions, and any success we reap from that is then used as ammo against us.

So the intersection of whiteness and Jewishness creates a self-reinforcing messy cycle of increasing hatred that is really hard to untangle.

In the US we have Joe Biden who is straightforwardly pro-Israel, as am I without generalizing and have been for as long as this has been going on, as a woman who is pro-LGBT, pro-Semitic, anti-nepotistic, anti-guerilla-tactical, and pro-Ukraine (Russia backs Palestine who would reverse any human rights in its territory).
