Hurling ordure at the TREACLES, especially those closely related to LessWrong.

AI-Industrial-Complex grift is fine as long as it sufficiently relates to the AI doom from the TREACLES. (Though TechTakes may be more suitable.)

This is sneer club, not debate club. Unless it's amusing debate.

[Especially don't debate the race scientists, if any sneak in - we ban and delete them as unsuitable for the server.]

Hi all.

Not a sneer post. (In fact, it's the sort of post that would be blocked/deleted from the reddit SneerClub.)

Recently I’ve been frustrated with the increasing influence of EAs in my city (not SF) and wanting to develop more real-life anti-TESCREAL connections. Perhaps for activism, or perhaps just for lols.

Anyone else interested in hosting/attending some area happy hours?

I'm up to meet with anybody who's already disembodied and uploaded to the internet.

Somehow, I doubt there's many other sneerers in Hanoi, but you never know...

sounds good - anyone in London? not a pub by preference, but there must be suitable cafes etc (even given November/December weather)

are there any Amsterdam-based sneerers? We're moving there in Jan and I am socially inept

Sorry im way to selfconcious and paranoid to meet up with people.

The rest of you live in such cool cities. I'm in Washington, DC, the least cool city imaginable (and now even worse, having been overrun by EA lobbyists)

Let me know if you want to SneerUp

I would be reluctant to go to an irl sneer club. I do like the idea of some sort of "sneer-in" to inform local activist organizations and politically active people about these groups and their cursed ideology.

For me it’d be highly contingent on who and where

I’ve been on the internet long enough to know the necessary possibly spicy things that could happen

And i suspect a significant number of sneerers are people are folks who are more vulnerable or have exposure concerns or somesuch, and I entirely understand such risk models and why they may wish to avoid any meetup

Definitely doesn’t help that the promptfans have outright sent death threats to folks like Torres etc, either

Being a LessWrong hater around here doesn't feel like a hobby worth setting up a whole event for, but if any of you regulars happen around western Finland I can offer a pint in exchange for a basilisk joke.

Tangential to this I was thinking of pitching a discord or minecraft server

A Minecraft server, a Discord channel, and maybe a Matrix server all bridged together would be really goofy and I'm all for it

I’ve still got SneerCon speaker badges available, and all it’ll cost you is an eternity of simulated torture (you have to run one of the vendor booths)
