Had green gooseberry bushes right by a cherry tree when I was a kid. Would eat those sour bastards till I was sick

I just made some jam from my gooseberry bush last night. So glad I got to it before the birds!

I had so many gooseberries this year that were days from ripening, until one morning they were all gone :(

I pulled these a little early and let them finish the last couple of days on the counter because I've been being plagued by scrub jays stealing my berries all year

Absolutely amazing! Similar to strawberries in a way but with it's own flavor. They're way too tart to eat fresh
