I use a few different programs for completion of job cards etc when i do worm and submit reports.

In two of them times need to be submitted 10:30:00 with a colon between the times.

The damn Semicolon is the main key and you need shift to get an actual Colon ; (shift):

I know ita a minor gripe but is there a way to invert this so without shift i get a colon : and with shift then i get the semicolon ;

Cheers

You have a few options, one is sharpkeys as people mentioned, alternatively there's also the microsoft keyboard layout creator that lets you make a custom keyboard layout where the two are swapped.

If you only want to activate it temporarily, you could also use autohotkey to define a hotkey that makes you type a colon instead of a semicolon and vice versa until you switch it off.

Install power toys, it's the first thing I do to swap Caps Lock and Esc.

I think Powertoys can only change keys themselves, not invert the shift function.

I think windows added a way to do that with one of the power toys things

I think sharpkeys is another tool that lets you do that

tho I haven't used either in years
