We are digital librarians. Among us are represented the various reasons to keep data -- legal requirements, competitive requirements, uncertainty of permanence of cloud services, distaste for transmitting your data externally (e.g. government or corporate espionage), cultural and familial archivists, internet collapse preppers, and people who do it themselves so they're sure it's done right. Fully recycling my comment about another Synology, here being even worse at 3281 Passmark CPU, probably they don't put in Coke machines CPUs this lame nowadays.
Unless I'm looking at the wrong box it's a Ryzen (so no hardware accelerated transcoding) with a very meager 4584 Passmark? That's really low if you want to actually do anything with it, I mean you wouldn't start building a PC anywhere close to that weak, heck even the ultraportables like Surface Pros are multiple times more powerful than that.
Thanks! I might consider retuning it if the seller would take it back.
