I need some help deciding on a replacement to a pair of ASUS ET8 routers that I currently use. I have not been happy with this product. Here are my needs:

  1. Dual WAN with automatic failover and automatic fallback (TMobile primary and Starlink secondary)
  2. 2.4 / 5 gHz on the same SSID.
  3. A separate SSID for home IoT devices that I can limit to 2.4 gHz only.
  4. A separate SSID for a guest network (not a deal breaker).
  5. Would prefer QOS features similar to Asus Adaptive QOS to ensure work-from-home gets priority.
  6. Mesh capability with wired backhaul. I need to cover 4600 sq ft on two levels.

I live in a rural area so my band requirements aren't complex. I don't have a lot of interference from neighbors. I'm not opposed to trying ASUS is a different product has proven to be significantly more reliable than the ET8.

half the things you say you need are much better handled on business class equipment.

the only hang up you have there is that wifi on business class is kind of expensive.

i'd suggest something like a mikrotik router and two aruba instant on APs.
