Hi everyone!

This update adds push notifications, a bunch of fixes and a few requested improvements. It also turned out that the second RC for Lemmy v19 broke a lot of things in the API, so those issues are fixed in this update too.

Here's the changelog:

  • Added push notifications
  • Added support for Lemmy version 19
  • Added option to always show post authors
  • Removed karma/upvote counts for user profiles
  • Fixed issue with page animations not showing properly on iOS 17.1+ and some other 17.1 issues
  • Fixed API issue with some accounts that could greatly reduce performance
  • Fixed a rare hang in the subscriptions page
  • Fixed crash when tapping enter after writing an emoji
  • Fixed a crash caused by certain corrupted images
  • Fixed UI layout issues in some rare scenarios
  • Fixed performance issues with some posts
  • Fixed a rare crash triggered by some feed types
  • Various other bugfixes and improvements

Apologies for the slow communication lately, I've been in a busy period and haven't had as much time to put into Lemmy as usual.

Seeing some really bad crashes since the update on iPhone 11 ProMax on 17.1.2, some of them cause my phone to become unresponsive briefly and even force closing Avelon doesn’t allow other apps to behave correctly for up to minutes later or I’ve even had to reboot my phone to get apps to become responsive again.

Not sure where I can get logs or how to send bug reports with real data though.

I also had re-springs with Avelon for a couple of versions. It’s even caused the phone to become unresponsive and reboot which I’ve never seen with an iOS app before.

Edit: It’s also been quite laggy, not sure if the two are connected.

The app often crashes when launching, on both my iPad and iPhone running iOS 17.1.2. It usually launches properly on the second try. Could you please have a look?

The subscription list has not worked for me for a couple of days (since the app store version 1.0.7 if I recall correctly). I installed 1.0.8 and it persists. Restarted my phone a few times since I first saw the issue, even fully reinstalled from the app store (and re-setup everything manually...), nothing seems to fix it.

Other apps are showing it just fine, so I think it's not my account or the instance.
