Lmao doesn’t line up. I can’t imagine how much trash is gonna get caught in the drawer. Why not just remove the whole drawer? Not to say that putting a hole in your granite countertop isn’t the dumbest fucking idea ever.

Plus there’s no way that paint will stay on the finished countertop, but maybe he’s hoping for that. I can just imagine trying to resell the house lol.

The whole video seems like intentional "rage bait", as literally everything is wrong or generally stupid.

TBH, kinda applies to vast majority of the DiWHY stuff.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 8 months ago

Yeah everything, cutting directly on the countertop, the stupid hole, the crap paint that will come up with humidity much less cleaning. Just ragebait.

Can’t believe he did that shit without a mask and then plays with the dust. Fuck.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

Right!? Even in a well ventilated shop designed for cutting that material a mask is required.

In this house we throw the entire vegetable into the trash

[–] [email protected] 47 points 8 months ago

After cutting it straight on the worktop without a chopping board, too. Fuck your knives, fuck your surfaces, fuck cleaning up afterwards.

All fruit are vegetables. Some vegetables are fruit.

This guy has perfected rage bait

[–] [email protected] 21 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Enthusiastically do everything wrong, because nobody would ever watch his videos otherwise.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 8 months ago (1 children)

And ruin a perfectly good marble kitchen table in the process... priceless!

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

It's not marble, it's laminate lol.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 8 months ago (1 children)

No, you can see the pattern goes all the way through the stone when he puts the tube in the hole. It's definitely not marble, but it could be granite or possibly corian. It's not an expensive countertop, maybe $1,000 worth of material.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I think it's laminate on wood, and he used strips after the fact on the interior of the hole. Hard to tell with the quick cuts and shit quality, but you might be right on the corian though. Definitely not marble lol.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

That's possible, I hadn't thought of that. But also there wasn't any sawdust, it was all white powder. Any way you slice it, it's rage bait bullshit.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago

In any case, it's some kind of a stone... and they're not cheap (at least where I live).

[–] [email protected] 26 points 8 months ago

I'm just glad I didn't give views to this fuckup on his platform.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 8 months ago

This is why I don't let people touch my knives...

[–] [email protected] 13 points 8 months ago

Yum fumes.

Also these have to be taking place right before demos, right?

[–] NigelFrobisher 10 points 8 months ago (1 children)

The coroner’s going to have a field day with this guy’s lungs.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

Hell, he could probably make a marble stool or something with what's left in him...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago

He’ll just turn into a statue/rock monster like the vestal virgins in the doctor who Pompeii episode.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

And chopping straight onto a counter without a chopping board? Cringe.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I'm not sure why this post exists, it does line up...

It's called perspective, we are looking at two holes offset by some distance from an offset perspective which means the hole below will look offset away from our point of reference. Which it does, expectedly.

I think the idea is pretty cool, the application kind of sucks.

THAT SAID

  • why is he cutting directly on granite with his knives
  • Just throwing fresh vegetables away.
  • Using spray paint on granite that hasn't been scratched up first
  • Using normal spray paint on a countertop used for food prep
[–] [email protected] 14 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Also he ruined a perfectly good drawer in the process and little food remains are inevitably going to accumulate there and start to stink.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

If only longer plastic tubes existed 😭... why, oh why god, why don't they make them longer 😭😭😭!

[–] [email protected] 8 points 8 months ago (1 children)

The Tom and Jerry looks kinda cool, but I dint want to clean that + it won't stay there. For the trash thing, you can just stand on the other side and have the trash can right next to you.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago

Why would you do that when you can drill a hole in your marble kitchen table top 🤨?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago

“Why would you want to do that?”

Thanks for speaking my mind, dude.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago

The Tom and Jerry decal was cool. Cutting a hole through your counter just to have quicker access to throwing things away, not so much.
