For what it's worth, I didn't enter an email when I made my account on Beehaw and I didn't have any issue with getting approved.
Apparently there's a known bug where if your username is already in the instance the page will just hang and the admins will be none the wiser that you tried to sign up at all, so it may be worth trying again with a different username. Source here: https://beehaw.org/post/562922
Ok, thank you. I wasn't worried about it not being approved yet, I just assumed that having an email might have been a requirement because they're being relatively strict about signups and not having an email address is often a quick filter for keeping out undesireables.
Once you submit the application, a new user will be created. You can see the status of the webpage beehaw.org/u/. If you got denied, that page will show 404.
