For how often I see articles talking about the dangers of tech, I'm surprised at the lack of mention for watch_dogs. Sure, its just a silly little Ubisoft game series, but this game series predicted so much of today's world. The 2nd game is basically propoganda against corporations hoarding so much data, exploring how each of them exploit the world they inhabit. If you haven't played the game, I highly recommend checking it out just for the intro alone. It might not be real world events or actual statistics, but it sure broke down some of the major problems in the industry into something my 13 year old brain could comprehend when I first played the game.

Guys, I'm starting to think Trump isn't meant to run a country.

I wonder what it'll take for for us to kick him to the curb by hand instead of waiting for the justic system to....not do justice against those who deserve it.

Ok I think this should finally bring to light how TOS should not be enforceable contracts. As

1- its common knowledge that the average person does not read TOS. Therefore, it should be unreasonable to expect the average consumer to have completely understood what they have agreed to, without any legal representation to clarify the contract

2 - TOS are written like legal jargin straight from the legal department. Unfortunately, the client base is either 10 year olds lying about their age, 80 year olds who barely understand what a TOS is, and the average consumer who was never presented with a contract, just a simple "Accept or Decline"

3 - If TOS is meant to be as enforceable as it is, then we need a new set of data laws / seperate justice system to actually regulate those TOS. From what I understand, real life laws still apply to contracts where both parties consented. Aka, even if you agreed to kill someone who wanted to die, murder is illegal.

I hope we can bring some real change instead of letting this go to the side too. I was hoping the Disney thing would be bigger than it was, but then again who's taking Disney to court and surviving? It's sad to think they can get away with this, and its sadder to know we're less valuable than the data we produce.

Then why the fuck do we not revolutionize and impose a 3rd party? I swear, I have to go down to DC myself to make people realize WE NEED TO GO OUT AND ACT!!! If NO ONE is happy with either party, we should be able to decline either candidate until we can all agree we found a compitent one. God, does anyone know of any revolutionary groups? I know the founding fathers didn't just declare independency and establish governmemt. They actually met up and planned how to knock these rich assholes off their thrones.

Call me insensitive, but shouldn't we be more worried about the terrorists on our home soil before fighting foreign lands. As in, every idiot who thought Jan 6 was a good idea. Because I can already picture the unhappy voters reaction whether Dems or MAGA wins.

2 have been fired at Trump, and they're investigating for Kamala.

And the worst part is: I STILL don't know who the bad guy is. Israel? Palestine? How should I know, I can barely process the legislation and corruption that was alllowed to pass on our home soil.

Anyway I hope to become more informed on this issue now, seeing as our leader HAS to know a solution. Even though one candidate shouldn't even be able to walk freely. And I hope everyone else does as well

Honestly, I wish he was shot down. He would've died, not as a mortar for MAGA that they were right, but as a mortar for democracy that citizens will use blood if their voices aren't heard. We need more harsh reality checks and protests demanding he faces justice

I'm guessing they bolt the carpet down as their solution. Might as well add metal brackets and bolt the driver down for safety.

From what I remember, more republicans committed voter fraud last election over anyone else to ensure their "unbeatable god" wins

Literally. As far as I can tell, our country isn't in the grandest state either, so why don't we spend the time improving it instead of meddling with other countries conflicts? Lives are are at stake, and here we are debating and commenting about it like it's another meme on Lemmy. I don't care which side is the bad guy, but we're not helping if the country is about to split in half over our political views.

I stopped doing the pledge when I realized I don't want to pledge my allegiance to a broken system. I'd happily start doing it again once I see actual beneficial change to our country, not more politics to fight/break apart over.

If it really boils down to this, how can one fight back? I don't wanna sit here and see these sad articles blow by, what can I do to tell Disney to fuck off. I did not sign up for this, I wanted to watch funny cartoons and superheroes like a normal person, and this is my reward? If suing them is futile, is storming their office and yelling at their corporate head about this any better? I'm pissed, and I can't sit here and wait for other legal heads to shut this stupid clause down.

So I recently bought an old wii, specifically for the purpose of homebrewing. I'm able to understand so far as to what needs downloaded on the Wii and how to backup, but I can't find any sites with games. I noticed Vimms Lair wasn't an option anymore, and other sites I look through use ROMs for emulators. (Unless, those do work on the console). I think you need .wbfs files, and I'd really appreciate if I was pointed in the right direction

So I've recently started to replay Watch_Dogs (digital version) on PS5 and oddly enough, it's the only game that won't suspend in rest mode. The console itself has to tell me it won't keep the game open and it'll close in 30 seconds. I've played both PS4/5 and use both digital and physical copies between my library. Anyone have an explanation?
